A Few Memorable Thoughts About Echo Park

We thought we would share a few memorable thoughts about our “hood” – Echo Park.
Echo Park is a marvelous combination of Los Angeles working class tradition and present days’ hipster chick.
The neighborhood is a cool 125 years young and gets its name from the delightful park the city built next to the area of the first housing “development” in the 1890s.
It became then and remains today an artist community. Did you know that two of Hollywood’s godfathers of film – Walt Disney and Max Sennett – had studios in Echo Park and shot many movies there on the streets of town.
Today, Echo Park is home to screen writers, cinematographers, actors, actresses and the gamut of those that create film and television entertainment.
While keeping a certain sense of its blue collar heritage, there has been an explosion of bars, restaurants and shops that make Echo Park one of LA’s most thriving and dynamic destinations.
